Watershed Planning Coordinator
Rondout Neversink Stream Program seeks applicants to join our team as Watershed Planning Coordinator and work in close collaboration with local government and residents in the pristine headwaters of Town of Denning and Neversink. This entry-level position combines the best of field data collection activities on famous trout fishing rivers in the Catskill Forest Preserve with office-based mapping and outreach tasks related to the science and implementation of watershed best practices for healthy streams. You will work with a lively community of geologists, hydrologists, resident and second-home stream side landowners; students and teachers; surveyors and engineers; excavators and nursery growers; and permitting agencies across the government spectrum. Experience with ArcGIS, Erosion & Sediment Control and Wilderness First Aid a plus. Must be able to undertake moderate labor such as lifting and planting trees/shrubs; which may weigh as much as 50 pounds and walk on uneven surfaces/uphill.
