The ACE Emerging Professionals Internship Corps (EPIC) program is seeking to hire a new, full-time office based professional team member to work in our Salt Lake City office in support of our national professional development programs. The right candidate will be committed to ACE's unique mission that utilizes public service for professional development & volunteerism.  We are expanding our staff with this new position in an effort to increase ACE's ability to serve our partners and members.  This individual will report directly to the EPIC Director.

About ACE Emerging Professionals Internship Corps (EPIC)

American Conservation Experience (ACE) is a 501c3, a national non-profit conservation corps located with offices nationwide. The EPIC program is a targeted internship program dedicated to developing and diversifying the conservation workforce nationwide. Our partnerships with federal resource management agencies, as well as private and non-profit conservation organizations, provide hands-on natural and cultural resource management opportunities for our future resource professionals. Our internship programs serve as a bridge between academia and careers for young professionals seeking positions as public servants. The individual selected for this important role will oversee the coordination of all internal administrative functions required to operate a national program.

Responsibilities

  • Process all Per-Diem, Reimbursables, and travel for staff and interns nationwide.
  • Manage all EPIC vehicle fleet logistics, maintenance, and payments.
  • Coordinate bi-weekly payroll cycles & assist interns with PayChex system.
  • Work closely with Central Operations to assure accurate and timely processing of all financial and reporting information.
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal operational trainings, orientation, and updating staff resources.
  • Collect and organize data, including the statistics for EPIC-wide program and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate Staff credit card reporting.
  • Support our National Team in purchasing of supplies & equipment.
  • Coordinate the selection, purchasing, organization, and distribution of intern uniforms nationally. 
  • Facilitate the selection, purchasing, inventory and distribution of ACE uniform components for interns and staff, including mailing intern uniform boxes weekly for all Divisions across the nation.  
  • Assist specific programs, as needed.

Experience and Skills

  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices, and the desire to learn more.
  • Strong computer management skills, including online personnel databases, iOS, Google, Filemaker, Excel, MS Office, Adobe Suite, and custom in-house software.
  • Highly developed communication skills, as well as a deep interest in the welfare of ACE's staff, members, and agency partners.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Efficient writing, editing, and word processing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and the ability to coordinate a highly mobile, high functioning team.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and willingness to participate in vehicle travel to project sites when occasionally needed.
  • Experience working with federal resource management agencies, in higher education, or for non-profits that have a conservation/resource mission will also be very useful, as ACE works with a variety of different partners.
  • Ability to pass a federal criminal background check.
  • Knowledge of the Corporation for National & Community Service.

  • Compensation depending on experience. Estimated salary range $30,000-$38,000. Level of experience, education,  & ability will be a strong consideration.
