POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Associate is responsible for the coordination, support, and implementation of fundraising initiatives, donor research, grant writing, and planned giving programs and initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the coordination and support of comprehensive fundraising programs to expand philanthropic support of Pheasants Forever. These responsibilities include administering planned giving, annual giving, and individual major gift programs and campaigns, as well as grant development initiatives.
• Provide support to a team of Development professionals in all aspects of their work to help achieve Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever's fundraising goals.
• Promptly and professionally respond to donor/grantee inquires and perform outbound calls to members, donors, and supporters
• Assist in the drafting and proofreading of correspondence, including acknowledgements, proposals, grant requests, and reports, as well as the preparation of donor packets, meeting coordination, list pulls, database entry, and file maintenance.
• Foster the growth of best practices in the supporting areas of gift processing, data management and donor relations as related to annual giving, elite memberships, and the organization. Work with team members on donor and prospect tracking, research, and reporting.
• Assist our Development Team, Field Team, and volunteers with planning and facilitating special events around the country; including “Friend-Raisers, fundraisers, and elite member events. In addition, support the organization’s elite membership strategies and recruitment booth at Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic.
• Work collaboratively with Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever state, regional, and national team members to successfully execute and deliver our $500 Million comprehensive Campaign. Help create and oversee the implementation of organization-wide best practices around tracking and reporting of campaign results.
• Assume all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Development

Organizational Profile:
We are seeking an individual with the talent, passion and desire to help promote and grow the Nation’s leading upland wildlife habitat conservation organization. Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) have over 700 chapters, 134,000 members across the nation.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience
• The successful candidate must be self-motivated, professional, flexible, upbeat, proactive, and comfortable working independently and as a team player. He/she must have a demonstrated competency in office administration, with an impeccable attention to detail, as well as an innovative mindset, and strengths in efficiency, timeliness, and multi-tasking.
• Superior interpersonal skills (written and verbal) and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse constituencies, including principal partners, donors, team members, volunteers are a must.
• Donor relations, foundation, event planning, information management, and development experience are preferred.
• Donor database management is required, and experience with Microsoft CRM is valued.
• Outstanding computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and internet research is a necessity.
• Experience and appreciation for the outdoors and hunting is valued, along with a commitment to the mission of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever.

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Development

Compensation and Location: Starting salary and benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications. Location is at our national office in St. Paul, MN.
