Drafts environmental compliance and permitting packages for resource management, facility and infrastructure projects following the policies and requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and responds to technical inquiries on compliance and permitting from management and agency representatives.

Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team to collect environmental data, evaluate proposals, and draft environmental documentation in support of NEPA compliance (categorical exclusions, environmental assessments) for various park projects.

Evaluates National Park Service project work for potential environmental effects and ensures documents are technically adequate and in compliance with applicable laws, NPS policies, regulations and guidelines.

Coordinates and facilitates consultation with appropriate state and other federal resource and regulatory agencies and non-governmental entities regarding assigned environmental issues, especially compliance with NEPA.
