ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Under the direction of the Assistant Program Director, the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator will perform the following functions:

Coordinate the recruitment of Participants for Conservation Corps programs

  • Coordinate program start and end dates, AmeriCorps slot allocations across all operating sites;
  • Develop and maintain recruitment strategies to meet changing needs of applicants;
  • Coordinate attendance of staff at recruitment events for universities, high schools, organizations and develop relationships with recruitment partners in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas;

Support Member Placement Specialist while they communicate with and track all applicants to program;

  • Provide guidance and creation of position goals
  • Track progress of position tasks
  • Promote culture of inclusion, equity and diversity throughout recruitment and member management practices.

Coordinate outreach activities to increase public awareness of program

  • Interact with the public and project partners;
  • Coordinate social media presence for programs;
  • Conduct frequent site visits to ensure understanding of participant activities;

Coordinate member development and civic engagement events;

  • Cultivate a positive member experience through team-building and leadership development;
  • Support positive mental and emotional health of members;
  • Transport members to enrollment and service activities as required by program guidelines;
  • Plan and implement National Days of Service (e.g. MLK Jr. Day of Service, 911 Day of Service, National Trails Day, National Public Lands Day) in coordinator with AYW’s development department;
  • Coordinate with the administrative team to create and implement retention events for members.
  • Develop and implement Alumni retention and participation program, maintain a presence on Alumni Job Board.

Assist with the creation of orientation agendas to ensure quality training.

  • Help advise the transition from potential participants to enrolled participants.
  • Complete and maintain timely paperwork including reporting on recruitment outcomes, requests for purchases, and grant reporting.
  • Work closely with the Development Team to assess any marketing and branding material(s)
  • Manage and maintain the recruitment and outreach budget, and coordinate with the Development Director for outreach expenses;
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Participate in ServeAustin collaborative and coordinate with Program Director and CEO on initiatives.
