Rate: $14/hr, full-time
About Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center:
Southwest Wildlife rescues and rehabilitates wildlife that has been injured, displaced, and orphaned. Once rehabilitated, they are returned to the wild. Sanctuary is provided to animals that cannot be released back to the wild. The Education Department tells the story of the animals brought to our sanctuary and promotes the income streams to support them. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team member to build our capacity in educating visitors and local residents on living with wildlife and the importance of native wildlife to healthy ecosystems.
The Education Programs Coordinator will assist with the development and implementation of all educational programming including on-site tours, off-site programs, promotional events, and special events. The Programs Coordinator’s main tasks will be development of programs, scheduling, registration and record keeping, and promotion of programs through marketing (50%). The Programs Coordinator will also assist in managing other income streams such as the gift shop and adoptions (20%). The Programs Coordinator will deliver tours onsite to the general public and school groups incorporating environmental education and interpretive techniques (10%). This delivery will include animal handling and the coordinator may assist in animal care (10%). The Programs Coordinator will handle administration of the volunteer coordination (10%).
This position requires working a flexible schedule which will include nights, weekends and holidays.
The ideal candidate will be both a team player and able to work independently, and always be courteous to guests, volunteers, and coworkers. The candidate must be reliable, flexible, have excellent organizational skills, and able to multi-task on multiple projects with varying timelines. The ideal candidate will be able to create and support a fun, interactive learning environment while insuring the safety of guests and animals.

Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center is located in far north Scottsdale on dirt roads. It is highly recommended that candidates map our sanctuary location BEFORE applying and to understand the driving distance.
