POSITION: Electrofishing Assistant
The Electrofishing Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Electrofishing Coordinator and delivering high-quality lake assessments and customer experiences. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the outdoors, values hard work, and brings both scientific knowledge and mechanical instincts to the field.
Primary Responsibilities

Assist the Electrofishing Coordinator in:

Developing and submitting electrofishing proposals within the company’s CRM, following standard operating procedures

Analyzing collected data and preparing management plans to support clients’ lake goals

Conducting electrofishing surveys professionally and accurately

Planning efficient, profitable survey routes and managing appointment schedules

- Operate and maintain all electrofishing-related equipment, ensuring it remains in excellent working order
- Perform field-based repairs to boats, trailers, and electrofishing equipment as needed
- Safely operate and trailer boats in various field environments
- Accurately identify freshwater fish species during surveys
- Swim confidently and assist with water-based tasks
- Travel throughout Georgia, with occasional overnight stays based on project needs
- Continually seek improvements in the company’s electrofishing processes and services
- Deliver excellent customer service, building long-term client relationships
- Call and email clients daily to coordinate and follow up on services
- Document all work accurately and thoroughly within the company’s CRM
- Collect client payments when required
- Assist AES staff with various services including fish stocking, liming, product installations, and more
- Maintain full compliance with all company standard operating procedures
- Consistently reflect and uphold AES’s Core Values in all work
Required Skills & Attributes
- Confident in trailering, launching, and operating boats
- Working knowledge of freshwater fish identification
- Swimming ability and comfort in/around water
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment repairs in the field
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and efficiently
- Clear communicator with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism with clients
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Willing and able to travel frequently throughout Georgia, including overnight trips
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance maybe evaluated using a combination of the following:
- Accuracy and timeliness of proposals and lake management plans
- Client satisfaction and communication responsiveness
- Efficiency of field routes and job execution
- Proper maintenance and readiness of all electrofishing equipment
- Timely and complete documentation in the CRM system
- Quality of client relationships and post-survey follow-up
- Initiative shown in improving field operations and processes
