HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR MISSION:

  • Provide support to the Conservation Strategy team to share, collect and organize grant application materials, as well as work with applicant organizations to troubleshoot issues that arise during the application process.
  • Support the Conservation Strategy team in the development of materials for Board Meetings, including generating document templates in Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, formatting and proofing PDFs, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides and generating and maintaining projects and associated tasks and deadlines in a project management software (Asana)
  • Provide support to conservation officers in the production and management of project agreements and all associated aspects.
  • Work with Conservation Directors to ensure that information in the conservation database is accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with the development of departmental SOPs to standardize and streamline processes and procedures.
  • Communicate findings in a variety of formats, including interactive online maps, infographics, written narratives, and other creative media.
  • Provide support to the conservation team on various aspects related to the operations of the department and internal communications needs.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, WE’RE HOPING YOU’LL HAVE:

  • Strong administrative experience. We are hoping you have strong expertise in understanding and manipulating budget documents. We also hope you can quickly learn how to effectively and resourcefully fill out grant templates. In addition, you possess the ability to craft materials tailored for external audiences with ease, coupled with strong writing and communication skills. Lastly, you will need to have strong analytical skills to translate a process into written documentation such as SOPs.
  • Strong project and time management skills. You can prioritize tasks (for yourself and others) and manage stakeholders so that multiple projects can be completed effectively, simultaneously, and on time. You can effectively "manage up" by understanding work priorities, anticipating the needs of your supervisor, and taking proactive steps to address them. You also possess the ability to collaborate effectively with teams to produce high-quality results.
  • Strong technical skills. You’ll need a strong working competency with Google Suite software and the ability to learn new project management software quickly. You possess a proven track record in managing data and databases, ensuring their accuracy. We are hoping you can run and design operational systems efficiently.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Rainforest Trust is a remote-first organization and the incumbent will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection, though part-time office space may be available in Warrenton, VA and/or Washington DC. 

Occasional national and/or international travel may be required for organizational meetings and other events.

ANTICIPATED SALARY  

The salary range for this position is $49,000- $54,000 commensurate with experience. This base compensation range represents the anticipated low and high range of wages for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate's location, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
