Anticipated Salary Range: $65,000-90,000 annually; comprehensive benefits including a housing stipend

Position Description: The Advancement Officer will play a key role in executing a comprehensive, year-round fundraising plan for the Jackson Hole Land Trust. The Advancement Officer will work collaboratively across the team and organization, with an emphasis on effectively managing donor relationships.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 200 donors, providing thoughtful stewardship and cultivation to strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Develop and implement personalized engagement and solicitation strategies to secure annual and major gifts, increase donor retention, and grow philanthropic support.
  • Plan and execute donor events and outings including social events, experiences on conservation easement protected properties, and regional travel
  • Lead planned giving program; manage FreeWill partnership, execute related events, and implement planned giving communications
  • Stay informed on organizational projects and priorities in order to effectively communicate impact and opportunities to donors.

The Advancement Officer may be asked to assist with other tasks as needed. The JHLT fosters a collaborative workspace and expects employees to work across team lines to advance the work and mission of the organization.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

The following skills and experiences are preferred. The organization will support training and growth for any gaps in skills.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for conservation and the mission of the Jackson Hole Land Trust
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to track and advance multiple donor relationships and conversations
  • Experience soliciting four and five figure gifts
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of software applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Asana, Slack, and donor databases (Raiser’s Edge experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with the local philanthropic community preferred
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required; occasional travel expected
