Position Title: Alabama Field to Fork Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Hunter Recruitment
Position Location: Remote (must reside within the state of Alabama)
Availability: Immediate
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Alabama Field to Fork Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Hunter Recruitment, National Deer Association (NDA) members and staff, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR), and other partner groups to deliver Recruit, Retain and Reactivate (R3) hunting programs and other education and outreach programs throughout the state of Alabama. The position is responsible for building strategic partnerships to advance R3 hunting programs and conservation work.
Key Job Responsibilities:
The NDA is seeking a qualified, self-motivated, and outgoing individual to serve as a Field to Fork Coordinator to:
- Plan, develop, market, coordinate, and deliver “Field to Fork” R3 hunting programs; through direct program implementation but also through coordination and facilitation of NDA Branches and R3 partners throughout Alabama
- Improve hunter recruitment statistics, increase the number of hunting mentors and NDA members, ensure effective NDA mission delivery, and make a positive impact on the future of deer hunting
- Help manage and coordinate necessary equipment and material support, including the ability to pull a trailer
- Promote adult hunter recruitment throughout the conservation community as well as in the non-hunting/locavore world
- Provide support to various partners in planning and conducting R3 programs
- Provide support to National and Regional R3 committees and attend meetings as appropriate
- Work with teammates to deliver content to appropriate audiences through the NDA website and social media, ADCNR, the R3 community, and other communication platforms
- Help identify, produce, and promote R3 success stories through video, photo, and written material
- Utilize the Field to Fork platform to be a subject matter expert on R3, adult hunter recruitment, and food-focused hunting
- Work with all staff to ensure consistent company branding and messaging
- Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred; GED or High School Diploma required
- Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines and set goals
- Solid appreciation and working knowledge of food-focused deer hunting and management
- Ability to engage and relate with hunters and land managers
- Ability to organize and conduct R3 events
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Sound computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work with minimal supervision from home office, travel as necessary and work several weekends throughout the year
Flexible Work Schedule: The Field to Fork Coordinator position works closely with volunteers to meet, plan, and execute events. As such, a fair number of the work hours will fall outside of standard working hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm). However, we encourage all our employees to maintain an appropriate work-life balance. To do so, we ask that you take time off during the standard working hours to account for hours worked during nights and weekends.
