Key Duties and Responsibilities

Outreach and Community Organization

• Translate and/or work with professional translators to ensure outreach materials (digital and print) are accurately expressed in Spanish. 
• Present organizational materials (such as slide decks and other speaking points,) at panel discussions, community meetings and clean-ups, and town halls.
• Support public communication (social media) in Spanish.

Volunteer Program Management Support

• Help build and recruit multi-lingual community of environmental speakers for Clean Fairfax’s Speakers Bureau
• Assist with coordinating volunteer programs (Community Cleanups) for individuals and groups

Other

• Contribute to annual reporting and grant proposals.
• Assist Clean Streams Coordinator with stream monitoring as needed
• Help maintain inventory of clean-up supplies and tabling materials

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Required:

• Fluent in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Flexible part-time schedule (weekly onsite in Fairfax as well as occasional evenings and weekends are necessary-this is not a remote position)
• Highly computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace)
• Comfort and ease with public speaking 
• Interest in Environmental Advocacy, Education and/or Enforcement
• Reliable transportation
• Legally able to work in the United States

Preferred:

• Associate’s degree in communication, education, media arts, environmental science or combination of 2 years of work experience and education in applicable areas 
• Experience with translation or translating services
• Event planning/marketing
• Content management for websites and social media
• Audio and video editing
