Sustainable Communities and Specialty Crop Grower Services

Do you have a passion for sustainability and public health? Are you interested in helping communities and companies set and achieve sustainability goals while working for a dynamic non-profit organization? We are seeking a full-time coordinator to support projects of IPM Institute’s Sustainable Communities and Specialty Crops programs focused on helping companies in the public health and agriculture sector create high-impact outcomes for the environment, people and their business.

The individual in this position will work with the project team, project partners, clients and other stakeholders to develop, implement, manage, maintain and evaluate initiatives that help advance sustainability in public health and agriculture.  

Responsibilities

  • Support certification programs by coordinating client outreach, new client on-boarding, certification process; and annual standards review for certification programs.
  • Collaborate with project team to coordinate implementation of training programs, webinars and outreach which support certifications, sustainable pest management industries and public health efforts relating to sustainable pest management.
  • Support operations team with data infrastructure and organization. 
  • Support Specialty Crops Services projects with on-farm technical assistance and integrated pest management services for apple growers throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, northern Illinois and northeast Iowa
  • Maintain strong and consistent communication within our team and with external project partners.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • At least two years’ experience in a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience, knowledge and demonstrated interest in public health, sustainability or sustainable agriculture.
  • Excellent data analysis and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including high level of comfort in Excel

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong customer service experience
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with structural or agricultural pest management
  • Experience or familiarity with certification programs

Flexible schedule (set your own hours), 35 to 40 hours per week, starting at $18.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on skills and experience. Excellent opportunities for long-term advancement. Located on the near east side of Madison. Prefer a candidate that can work from the Madison office, with potential to work up to two days per week remotely after 90 days.
