Three separate positions will be available:
Three 4-month position for 5 days/week (full-time)

COLORADO PARKS AND WILDLIFE (CPW)

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
● Perform Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing on hunter-harvested deer, elk, & moose, and record all relevant data
● Handle cash and card payments for CWD testing
● Conduct mandatory inspections of hunter-harvested moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, black bears and mountain lions, and coordinate with law enforcement, as needed
● Drive transport routes between CWD sampling sites and the CPW wildlife health laboratory to deliver tissue samples for further testing and examination
● Maintain a clean workspace to prevent cross-contamination between samples
● Provide backup to the front desk, which includes selling wildlife products (hunting and fishing licenses, refund and duplicate licenses, and hunter education cards), and parks
products (park passes, OHV permits, snowmobile and boat registrations).
● Opportunities for field work with our field staff will be provided as time allows
● Training is provided for the sampling, testing, and inspecting required of this position
● Additional duties as assigned

UNIFORMS:

The office will provide select uniform items.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SUBSTITUTIONS, CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & APPEAL RIGHTS:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

● Must be 18 years of age or older
● Must have a current & valid drivers' license or reliable transportation
● Applicants may be subject to completion of a comprehensive background check
● Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and lift 50lbs
● Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week
● Must be available to work some weekends and holidays
● Ability to interact positively with the public
● Ability to work well within a team
● Previous experience handling money and working with the public preferred
● Strong interpersonal communication skills preferred
● Previous experience with Google Workspace preferred
● Hunting and fishing experience is helpful.
