REGI is a non-profit organization dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned native bird species and public education on wildlife and conservation issues. REGI provides medical treatment, food, housing and professional care to assure release back into the wild for 900-1000 federally protected birds annually. REGI is seeking a reliable and dedicated person for the position of Clinic Manager. The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in conservation and captive care of native avian species. Prior experience in avian rehabilitation preferred. 

POSITION TITLE: Clinic Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinic Manager to join our team. This individual will support the Executive Director in the overall management of clinic operations, assist with rehabilitation efforts, and ensure that our mission of avian care and education is upheld. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wildlife rehabilitation, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for avian welfare. This is a full-time, permanent position located at our facility in Antigo, WI. Hours are typically 8am-4pm Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and holidays, and in the summer there is a 10am-6pm shift that is rotated daily. 

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Director in the day-to-day management of clinic operations including;

  • Communicating with the vet of record and consulting about patients
  • Ordering medications
  • Help with end of year reports and the permitting process 
  • Scheduling all of our avian technicians on a monthly basis. 

Oversee the rehabilitation process for injured and orphaned birds, including: 

  • Having the final say in decisions related to care or quality of life. 
  • Drawing blood, running blood tests, performing x-rays, and wrapping injuries alongside other staff members.  
  • Training staff and interns 
  • Communicate with public to help with rescue efforts as well as educate public on wildlife conservation

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, wildlife ecology, captive wildlife preferred, but equivalent work experience in a related field will be considered. 
  • Must be able to do labor intensive and physically demanding work including lifting over 50 lbs. Needs to be able to spend a large part of the day moving around and on your feet. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in wildlife rehabilitation or a related field. 
  • Experience in a leadership position preferred, must have good leadership and communication skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of avian anatomy, behavior, and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and record-keeping software
  • Clean driving record
