Are you passionate about conservation and have an interest in public service? The Town of Brewster is currently accepting applications for a part-time Conservation Agent. This new position performs a variety of technical, administrative, and permitting work assisting the Conservation Department in environmental protection and administration of applicable laws and regulations such as the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act.
Under the administrative direction of the Director of Natural Resources and in collaboration with the Conservation Administrator, the Conservation Agent will conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and permits. Responds to inquiries and provides guidance, education, and assistance in complying with codes and regulations, and provides information on applicable procedures and submittal requirements. The Conservation Agent will also assist in monitoring open permits and enforcement orders and maintains spreadsheets and databases to track administration and enforcement activities.
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field and a minimum of one year of related experience required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
