About the Districts
The Bookcliff, Mount Sopris, and South Side Conservation Districts are political subdivisions of the State of Colorado serving Garfield and Pitkin Counties. Guided by local agricultural producers, the Districts provide technical and educational assistance to conserve natural resources.
Position Summary
The Conservation District Administrator reports to the District Manager and provides administrative, financial, and organizational support to the three Conservation District Boards.
Key Responsibilities
● Maintain financial records, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and assist with budgeting and audits.
● Manage and track grant reporting requirements.
● Coordinate meetings, workshops, and events.
● Ensure compliance with state statutes and applicable policies.
● Provide general administrative support, including customer service, recordkeeping, and office management.
Qualifications
1. Minimum:
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Two years of professional office experience.
● Ability to pass a federal background check.
2. Preferred:
● Bookkeeping or accounting experience (QuickBooks or similar software).
● Knowledge of agriculture and/or conservation.
