The Collin County Soil and Water Conservation District is currently accepting applications for a conservation technician to work with landowners within the Lavon Lake Watershed which includes parts of Collin, Grayson, Fannin and Hunt Counties. The individual hired will be required to work with farmers and ranchers to develop water quality management plans and assist producers in obtaining and utilizing financial incentives to implement conservation best management practices. Qualified individuals will have a degree in agriculture, natural resources, or a related field. Individuals with experience in natural resource planning are desired. Computer skills are a must and experience with the Toolkit planning program is an advantage. The position is a full-time, temporary position. It is funded through a three year grant but has the potential for continued funding in the future. Training will be provided, but any pertinent experience should be listed. The position is headquartered at the Collin County SWCD.
