Contract Specialist 1 (CS1)
Salary: $4,216.00 - $5,666.00 Monthly

Responsibilities:
Timber Sale Contracts Development and Monitoring

  • Prepare and process timber sale review documents and advertising materials.
  • Review and analyze contracts and other associated documents for completeness, adherence with Board of Natural Resources and Agency policy and procedures, ensure consistency with agency and region standards, and identify contract teams and language suitable to comply with policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Independently work with contract administrators, timber sale purchasers, logging contractors, and the scaling bureau to ensure compliance with scale and tonnage timber sale contracts, and log and load accountability requirements. 

Silviculture Contract Development and Financial Monitoring

  • Prepare silviculture contracts for review by the Region and Division, in preparation for public auction.  
  • Performs contract administration tasks by reviewing and auditing fiscal documents using established policies and procedures on active silviculture contracts.

Timber Sale, Contract Harvest and Silviculture Auctions

  • Assist in timber sale and contract harvest auctions. Reviews sealed bids, bid bonds, and big deposits for completeness and accuracy.

Supervision of Fiscal Specialist 1

Required Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Business Law, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, ora  closely related field AND one year of experience in negotiating, administering, or terminating contracts, contract property management, contract cost or price analysis, contract compliance administration; 
    OR a combination of education and/or experience equivalent.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Skills in supervision to include: directing the work of others, planning and conducting office operations, and planning development.
  • Effective Communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Commitment to fostering and supporting an environment that honors diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental justice practices.
