DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
The Development Coordinator reports directly to the Development and Communications Director. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an organized and data-driven individual seeking experience in nonprofit fundraising while making a positive impact on the environment.

Schedule:
This full-time, hourly, non-exempt role is primarily a Monday-Friday office-based position. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Responsibilities:
Fundraising and Development (85%)
●  Maintain the donor database, including entering gifts, pledges, contact information, donor records, and household information accurately. Follow best practices for database management.
● Write prompt acknowledgements for donations.
● Create weekly and monthly donor reports.
●  Support fundraising campaigns by creating mailing lists, mailing letters, drafting copy, creating timelines, and communicating with donors.
●  Communicate with vendors about campaign-related printing or graphic design.
●  Support annual events such as Hellbender on the River by assisting with logistics, guest lists, 
Eventbrite listings, registration, signage, communicating with attendees, and the event management team.
●  Assist with securing sponsorships, keeping track of sponsorship deliverables, and communicating with sponsors before and after events.
● Assist staff with any donation-related tabling needs.
● Assist with grant writing.

Administrative support (15%)
●  Perform general administrative tasks like scheduling, maintaining donor files, preparing donor reports, and maintaining up-to-date information on the website.
● Monitor sales of Compact-branded items on the website.
● Other duties as needed, such as assistance with board meetings or donor related tasks.

Qualifications:

● Strong writing skills.
●  Excellence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc), and a love of an accurate spreadsheet.
●  Quick learner or experience in CRM or donor database platforms.
●  An ability to maintain or develop accurate and efficient systems.
●  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners, and donors.
●  Must be a team player and also be able to work independently.
●  Well-organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks, assignments, and priorities.
● Interest in the environment is a plus.
