Founded in 2002, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works with 64 partner groups, its Corporate Council, and its 140,000 members and supporters to guarantee all Americans quality places to hunt and fish. We unite and amplify our partners’ voices by strengthening federal policy and funding around conservation, habitat, and access.
Position Summary
The Development Operations & Donor Engagement Associate supports the mission of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation by strengthening TRCP’s fundraising operations, donor stewardship, and engagement efforts.
This role is central to the daily functioning of the Development team, with primary responsibility for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database administration, gift processing and reconciliation, donor communications and acknowledgments, and operational support for fundraising campaigns and events—including TRCP’s signature Capital Conservation Awards Dinner. The Associate ensures accurate data, timely donor recognition, and strong internal coordination across development, finance, and communications.

Key Responsibilities
Development Operations & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date donor, corporate, and foundation records in TRCP’s CRM (EveryAction).
- Enter and process all donations, pledges, checks, wires, and recurring gifts.
- Conduct regular database maintenance, segmentation, contact updates, and list management.
- Generate reports, dashboards, mailing lists, and donor summaries to support fundraising strategy, campaigns, and leadership needs.
Donor Stewardship & Engagement
- Assist in preparation and support of personalized donor communications, including thank-you letters, renewal outreach, campaign updates, and stewardship materials.
- Manage donor and foundation prospect lists; conduct research and prepare briefing materials for development leadership.
Campaigns, Appeals & Communications
- Support the planning, execution, and tracking of fundraising campaigns, including year-end appeals, matching challenges, membership renewals, Giving Tuesday, and recurring gift programs.
- Assist with donor email and direct mail solicitations, including list creation, scheduling, tracking, and performance reporting.
- Collaborate with the Development team, Communications team, and external vendors on donor engagement campaigns and messaging.
- Implement and manage renewal calendars; track donor retention, response rates, and key performance metrics.
Events & Organizational Support
- Provide administrative and logistical support for TRCP fundraising and donor engagement events.
- Assist with event-related donor tracking, acknowledgments, guest lists, and follow-up.
- Support additional development and organizational priorities as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, or administrative roles (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with donors and senior leaders.
- Comfort with data entry and reporting; proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
- Experience with, or strong interest in mastering, CRM systems (EveryAction, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar).
- Technologically curious and comfortable learning new systems, tools, and workflows.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, growing organization.
- Professional judgment, discretion, and strict adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Interest in conservation, public lands, hunting, fishing, and outdoor access (background helpful but not required).
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
- Occasional evening hours.
