Title: Development Operations Coordinator

Starting Salary Range: The starting salary for this position will be in the $25.58 to $26.34 per hour range, depending on experience, education, and skills relevant to the position.  Please note that the indicated starting salary range describes the range for an incumbent in this position.  Most new staff generally start at the beginning of the range percentile to ensure internal salary equity.

Location:   Fully remote eligible within the contiguous United States only. Organizational travel required

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Conservation Legacy is a nationwide non-profit.  The Corps programs within the organization engage participants in diverse conservation and community projects that serve public and private lands.   These projects provide opportunities for personal and professional development and strive toward a high priority of needs for public land managers and community partners. Program Summary:

Launched approximately two years ago, Conservation Legacy’s Philanthropy Program was created to build a strong, organization-wide culture of philanthropy while increasing non-government funding to support CL’s programs. The program focuses on aligning donor engagement, stewardship, and fundraising systems with mission impact, strengthening long-term sustainability and flexibility beyond public funding. As a growing program, it continues to develop the relationships, infrastructure, and internal collaboration needed to support innovation and advance Conservation Legacy’s work.

Position Summary:

The Development Operations Coordinator is a key member of the Philanthropy & Partnerships team, providing essential coordination, data management, and operational support to advance Conservation Legacy’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role ensures accurate donor records, timely stewardship, effective reporting, and smooth coordination across campaigns, committees, and leadership.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated by mission-driven work that supports conservation, workforce development, and community impact.

Outcomes & Functions of Position:

Donor Data & CRM Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and consistency
  • Reconcile online donations between Donorbox and Salesforce, identifying and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with finance
  • Generate and manage Salesforce reports, including giving summaries, pipeline reports, campaign performance reports, and custom data requests
  • Support moves management and donor pipeline tracking for individual, institutional, and major gift prospects
  • Prepare meeting notes, summaries, and reports for the National Philanthropy Director for internal leadership, boards, and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, calendars, and follow-up actions related to development activities

Fundraising Campaign Support

  • Create and manage online fundraising campaign pages and donation forms
  • Provide administrative and reporting support for annual, special, and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns
  • Assist with gift processing, tribute and memorial gifts, and campaign tracking

Donor Stewardship & Engagement

  • Prepare and distribute timely donor acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and stewardship communications
  • Support donor recognition and engagement efforts, including lists, reports, and follow-up communications
  • Assist with alumni engagement initiatives, tracking participation, outcomes, and donor involvement

Prospect Research & Donor Intelligence

  • Conduct prospect research using DonorSearch and other tools to support major and leadership gift strategies
  • Prepare donor profiles, briefing documents, and research summaries for the National Philanthropy Director and senior leadership
  • Identify trends and insights to inform donor cultivation and solicitation strategies

Collaboration & Operations

  • Collaborate with finance, communications, programs, and field teams to support integrated fundraising efforts

Organizational Advocacy

  • Successfully engages, leads, and supports a positive work environment for all within the organization and the communities we serve.
  • Leads and/or participates in organizational-wide teams, projects and initiatives that support the work of the Strategic Plans goals.
  • Reports any potential complaints within the organization as identified in the Personnel Policy Manual.
  • Assists or leads other responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, or administrative support
  • Experience working with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce and DonorBox, DonorSearch, Asana, Microsoft Office programs and applications, or similar platforms.  
  • Strong attention to detail with a high standard for data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical donor stewardship.
  • Familiarity with fundraising best practices and donor lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting committees, boards, or senior leadership.
  • Passion for conservation, service, workforce development, or community-based impact.
  • Ability to keep others and oneself in remote locations, accountable to expectations. 
  • Valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record per Personnel Policies. 
  • Must be able to pass the organization’s criminal history check requirements.  
  • Ability to successfully work in a fluid, changing work environment.
