The Discovery Program at Camp Allen is searching for a residential Environmental Education Instructor for the 2019-2020 school year.  Requirements to apply are a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, experience working with youth and a desire to work and play outdoors.   Instructors teach and lead groups of students from local public and private schools in a variety of environmental, outdoor and adventure classes and activities on 1100 acres of pine and hardwood forest in Eastern Texas. All necessary trainings and certifications such as Level I ACCT low and high ropes challenge, NASP archery, ACA flatwater canoe/kayak, Red Cross or AHA first aid/CPR, etc. are paid as a part of our on-site staff development.   School year begins August 16 and ends June 1.  Salary for beginning instructors is $275 weekly + full room and board, health insurance, and retirement plan after 1 year of employment.
