The Nestucca, Neskowin, Sand Lake Watersheds Council is seeking an Executive Director to start November 1st, 2021 or as soon after as possible. . The position is full time, primarily supported by state grants. The position reports to a board representing Council members in the four main watersheds in south Tillamook County, Oregon. The Council offices are located in Pacific City, Oregon.

The Council Board is seeking candidates who have experience in working with landowners and local, state, federal and non profit partners, to enhance and protect watershed health.

Job Responsibilities: The Executive Director is responsible for identifying and prioritizing watershed restoration opportunities along with state, federal and non-profit partners, seeking funding for restoration projects, contracting for and overseeing project completion. The Executive Director is also responsible for educational outreach, budget, coordinating volunteer activities, a water quality monitoring program and facilitating monthly meetings of the Council Board. The Executive Director supervises one part time staff member and three contractors.

Applicant must be able to participate in field work including overseeing construction projects, in-stream assistance on habitat restoration, and traversing rugged terrain. 

Background/Education: Applicants must hold a minimum of an undergraduate degree. Graduate degree in work related area is desired. Applicants ideally possess work or extensive volunteer experience in relevant areas. The position requires someone who is self motivated, able to work with limited supervision, and has demonstrated the ability to work with diverse populations.
