Fall 2025 Social Media Content Creation and Community Engagement Internship Opportunity

Forest Bridges: The O&C Forest Habitat Project (https://www.forestbridges.org ) is a SW Oregon grassroots non-profit collaborative organization that brings people together to foster sustainable forest health and habitats through active conservation management and restoration solutions for western Oregon’s O&C Lands. We are excited to offer a university/college-level paid fall internship in our Youth Bridges to Forest (YB2F) Social Media and Community Engagement Project.

Duration: October – December 2025 (approximately 8-10 weeks)

Reports to: Forest Bridges Executive Director (based in Roseburg, Oregon), and works on a contracted social media creative team (based on Corvallis, Oregon).

Location of Work: Intern must be based in Western/Southwestern Oregon, with mobility to travel on short field trips in W/SW Oregon (e.g., Corvallis, Eugene, Roseburg and possibly Medford).

Working Conditions and Requirements: This is a hybrid indoor/outdoor position, including working remotely at one’s own site, with field trips to record video content for Forest Bridges’ YB2F social media platforms, and planning meetings in Corvallis with the creative team.

Hours/remuneration: 6 – 12 hours per week; $20/hour, plus personal use of vehicle reimbursed at Federal GSA rate ($0.70 per mile). No overnight travel is anticipated. This internship is on an at-will, short-term hiring basis. No benefits are included.

Project Description: Forest Bridges’ YB2F is a social media and community engagement project serving audiences ages 18 – 28. Over the last year we developed and published dozens of short videos on TikTok and Instagram. The content was largely driven by Forest Bridges’ Active Conservation Management (ACM) strategies for the O&C public lands of Western Oregon and also told important personal stories by our then Tribal Liaison and project assistant. Our ACM strategies braid cutting-edge science (ecological forestry, fire ecology) with Indigenous Knowledge (ethnobotany). You can check out these videos at our YB2F Instagram and TikTok social media accounts:

We intend to develop new content for the Fall of 2025 based on the selection of an intern to work with our creative team. We hope to continue on our path of cultivating and educating audiences on ecological forestry, fire ecology, and Indigenous Knowledge. And we would also like to grow youth audiences through community engagement activities (TBD).

Intern’s Duties:

  • Participate on the YB2F creative team planning, developing, writing scripts for and recording short video content for the YB2F social media platforms.
  • Participate in/Star in forest-based B-roll and scripted video shoots with our technical creative partners.
