Since 1993, Broadreach has created exceptional, small-group learning experiences that inspire and empower students to find potential in the world through hands-on exploration. High school and college students can earn college credit while traveling with a small group of peers to the Bahamas, Costa Rica, or Ecuador. Students participate in lectures, discussions and field research, as well as activities that build leadership and teamwork. Our goal is that students gain new skills, new friends and have more fun learning than they ever thought possible.

Broadreach offers international summer jobs in biology. Broadreach instructors are expected to educate, mentor and inspire students every day. Broadreach Instructors also need to be energetic and empathetic role models who excel in building meaningful relationships with young adults.

Responsibilities Include: Managing health and safety of students, maintaining a positive attitude through challenging circumstances, leading games, participating in service-learning activities, developing students’ personal growth, facilitating inclusive group dynamics and demonstrating respectful travel, leading academic discussion and grading student assignments.

Our instructors will lead a for credit, college level course for high schools focused on Sea Turtle Conservation in Costa Rica. Instructors will relay information through lectures, guided discussions, assist with collecting research data and provide context to students as they observe local outfitters. As the academic lead for a program, you will be responsible for issuing and grading assignments including journal entries, research presentations, midterms and finals. We will provide course syllabus and program materials to our instructors prior to the summer.

Broadreach Adventures are fun, rewarding and demanding. Each course is approximately three weeks long and is mentally and physically challenging. Our most successful instructors are positive, flexible, team players who are able to create a fun, cohesive and supportive community.
