Field Instructor

WMI seeks to hire qualified and trained individuals as instructors for field programs, including naturalists, environmental educators, and outdoor industry guides. Instructors will be paid starting at $15 an hour, with pay bumps from experience, certifications, and Spanish fluency. This employment opportunity can complement other employment or school schedules, as it is a flexible position in which team members work on trips as they are available.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
- To facilitate activity sessions in such a way that all participants feel valued, safe, and part of a team.
- To seek to build positive relationships with groups of both young people and adults.
- Relate positively with people of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Inspire and connect young people to the natural world through science curriculum, natural history, and community relationships.
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 3 day programs or 2 overnight programs throughout the Fall season.
