Overview: As part of the nation’s leading upland habitat organization, the Habitat Protection Specialist directly supports the delivery of PF and QF’s permanent habitat protection and public access programs, which are both strategic priorities for the organization. Delivery of permanent habitat protection via Build a Wildlife Area (BAWA) program requires significant coordination, research, due diligence and communication. This position will play a key role in procurement, project tracking, reporting, and communication. The Specialist will coordinate and/or procure due diligence requirements including appraisals, title work, environmental assessments, land surveys, partner requirements, contracts, and other issues that arise during fee-acquisition. Due diligence is required to be done in a timely manner and executed according to organizational policies and procedures. This position will also perform required reporting, assist in maintaining records, and information management using the organization’s CRM. The Specialist will be a member of the development team supervised by the Habitat Protection Officer.

What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate, procure and track due diligence for the successful completion of BAWA and other permanent habitat protection projects. This includes appraisals, title work, contracts, environmental assessments, land surveys, partner requirements, etc.
- Assist in tracking project progress, preparing timely reports and updates, and tracking project progress in the organization’s CRM database.
- Assist in the communication of project progress internally and with partners
- Support permanent habitat protection team in activities as requested and as schedules permit, including support of easement acquisition processes.
- Administer and document contractor bids, vendor engagement, submitting invoices, and tracking project progress in Microsoft CRM.
- Assuming other duties and responsibilities as assigned. This may include supporting PF and QF’s access program, Public Access To Habitat (PATH) and habitat easement efforts.
- Assist in development of educational and promotional materials and support updates to social media and websites.
- Limited travel will be required for meetings and training.
What We’re Looking For:
- Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented and organized.
- Understanding of general real estate and land acquisition due diligence processes
- Demonstrated ability to produce accurate reports and summaries with financial accounting experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft software packages including Word and Excel. CRM experience is beneficial.
- Ability to create and manage aspects of a variety of projects, partners, and reports.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work from a home office. General office equipment required for the position is supplied.
Preferred Qualifications Include: Applicants should be organized and detail oriented, be an innovative and resourceful self-starter that is able to work with minimal supervision. Must be team oriented, with good oral and written communication skills. Experience with real estate and accounting is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or natural resource management is preferred.
Salary Range: $40,000 to $50,000 (commensurate with experience) with annual performance-based raises, plus benefits include:
