FWP is seeking to hire a Hydrology Technician to assist with the Arctic Grayling Candidate Conservation Agreement with Assurances program (CCAA Program), in the Upper Big Hole River, MT. The incumbent will assist with annual conservation monitoring within the Arctic Grayling CCAA program. The ability to work effectively as part of a team across several disciplines and agencies is a requirement for this position to complete annual monitoring responsibilities. The incumbent will be working on private lands throughout the Big Hole Valley. The ability to build and maintain relationships and foster of Arctic Grayling conservation through partnerships with private landowners is an essential skillset for this position. Additional desirable competencies include familiarity with hydrologic monitoring, plant identification to species level, general livestock and grazing management, and ArcGIS data entry and mapping. Familiarity with wetland delineations, report preparation, data management and analysis, and backpack electrofishing are preferred. The incumbent will assist various supervisory program staff with the following responsibilities: 1) Hydrologic and irrigation compliance monitoring, including stage logger deployment, flow measurements, reading measuring devices, etc. under the supervision of the CCAA Hydrologist, 2) Riparian assessments, wetland delineations, and grazing management inventory and analysis under the supervision of the CCAA Riparian Ecologist, 3) GIS mapping, data entry, and geospatial summarization for riparian and CCAA conservation projects, 4) Conservation project development and monitoring, 5) Entering and summarizing data for the annual Big Hole CCAA Report, 6) Arctic Grayling electrofishing, ditch entrainment monitoring, and gamete collection under the supervision of the CCAA Arctic Grayling Biologist
