The Lidar Portal Systems Administrator works with a team of technical experts to provide professional-level system administration to resolve issues of the agency’s ITD-supported LIDAR/geographical information systems. Works with other GIS team members to reach out to agency customer areas and help gather requirements to fix and enhance the Lidar Portal. This position researches, plans, coordinates, implements, and maintains the Lidar Portal server infrastructure environment, as well as performs unit, integration, and troubleshooting testing. This position applies knowledge of Information Technology principles, methodologies, and techniques to diagnose and resolve complex customer complaints and GIS problems and system issues to ensure continuous service. This position researches, develops, modifies tests, installs, deploys, maintains, supports, and documents for new, upgraded, or existing enterprise software and applications. This position will play a key role in creating and shaping the Storage and Cloud strategic direction from both an architectural and implementation perspective. A key aspect of that role will be to provide technical platform solutions and implementation activities to resolve platform-level architecture issues in these areas.

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS in computer science, information systems, or related field, plus 4 years experience in the following areas:
    • Experience with Windows Server Administration in an enterprise environment at a professional level. Must have had experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows server systems, including:
      • Troubleshooting using system logs and tools.
      • NTFS permission inheritance and settings.
      • Registry system setting and editing.
    • Experience designing, programming, and deploying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications.
    • Professional level working experience using geospatial software and hardware in a web application environment.

           OR a combination of education and/or experience equivalent.

  • Experience troubleshooting issues and providing technical support software and supporting tools in a large technology environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in all systems development life cycle stages.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting an environment that honors diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental justice practices.
  • Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations, and public records retention and requests are followed.
