The purpose of this position is to design and execute marketing strategy campaigns for the New Mexico State Parks Division (Parks) using various resources to promote the Division's mission. It oversees all aspects of designing, budgeting, coordinating, and executing print, digital and video advertising, organizing and promoting events, managing social media, maintaining the website and social media, tracking analytics and trends, designing park-specific brochures, flyers, digital and print materials, promotional merchandise, and other marketing collateral. Serves as the Public information Officer and chief spokesperson for the Division.

1) Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or five to ten years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field is required.
2) Expertise producing a wide range of digital, print, photographic, and video content using Adobe Creative applications (or similar) - Illustrator, lnDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro is required as well as proficiency with WordPress, Canva, Windows, Microsoft Office and 365 applications - Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
3) Experience with budgeting, event coordination, managing social media and website content, and understanding and use of
analytics.
4) Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and make quick decisions is required.
5) Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and engage directly with the public (adults and children) in various settings, to include promotional events, expos, career fairs, outdoor recreation events, public speaking engagements, presentations, and interpretive educational opportunities.
6) Experience developing marketing plans, press releases and serving as a spokesperson on and off camera.
Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
