Position Summary

The Membership and Admission Assistant will serve as an important contact for Sanctuary visitors and members to drive membership sales, strengthen the Corkscrew’s membership community, and process daily admissions.  

While working at the Blair Visitor Center, you will engage visitors and members, initiate new membership sales, handle inquiries, and facilitate guest entry. Additionally, the Membership and Admission Assistant will work closely with the Volunteer and Membership Manager to support membership experiences, events, programs, and promotions. This is a part-time, seasonal opportunity located in Naples, Florida. You will work 25 hours per week from December 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026.

Compensation: 

$19.00 / hour  

Additional Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Deliver excellent customer service and contribute to a welcoming environment for all members, visitors, volunteers, and program participants. 
  • Promote and process new membership sales and renewals.
  • Collaborate with Visitor Center staff to ensure positive and engaging visitor experiences.
  • Handle membership inquiries in person and over the phone.   
  • Assist with admissions and general visitor questions or needs.  
  • Generate ideas to enhance or improve member experiences.  
  • Assist with member events and programs. 
  • Support donor cultivation at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary by helping to identify members wishing to increase their financial support of the Sanctuary. 
  • Assist with end-of-day facility closure by clearing the boardwalk of visitors, as required.  
  • Maintain and foster a culture of safety.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.   

Qualifications and Experience:

  • GED, Vocational, or high school diploma required and minimum of 1 year of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. 
  • Experience in customer service, retail, or an administrative support role.  
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment and professionally represent Audubon to the public and volunteers.  
  • Highly motivated to engage with visitors and members and sell new memberships.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills while engaging people of diverse backgrounds.  
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and comfortable working in databases.  
  • Interest and commitment to the mission of the National Audubon Society, and ability to communicate Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary’s mission, goals, and programs effectively to the public.  
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays.  
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. and traverse at least 3 miles in a variety of weather conditions with or without accommodation.
