Contract Specialist 1 (CS1)
Salary: $4,093.00 - $5,501.00 Monthly

Responsibilities:
- Administers Region Small Public Works (RSPW) and Silviculture contracts
- Manages Region Timber Sale Documentation Review and State Lands Permit Acquisition
- Writes and Coordinates Land Use Licensing (LUL) for Research and the use of State Lands by other government and private entities
- SharePoint Administrator, Timber Sales Record Officer, and Region Lock and Key inventory and tracking
- Timber Sales Auction and Contract Awarding Administration
- Other Duties as Assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree involving major study in business administration, public administration, business law, commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a closely allied field, AND one year of experience in negotiating, administering, or terminating contracts, contract property management, contract cost or price analysis, or contract compliance administration;
OR a combination of education and/or experience equivalent. - Knowledge of State and federal laws and regulations governing contracts and agreements, contract principles, theory, and application; contracts terminology and development; contracts practices and procedures.
- Ability to write effectively; represent the agency in coordination and negotiation with other governmental agencies and private industry; recognize desirable contract terms and provisions; identify areas and incidents of non-compliance with existing contracts.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to encourage and facilitate cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity, foster commitment and team spirit, and work with others to achieve goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via written, oral, or other forms of communication
- Knowledge of contracting laws, state contracting policies, agreements, etc.; business and professional services, practices and trends, sources of supply and cost factors, contract terminology, and development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
