Position: Office Assistant (Full Time-Permanent position)
Location: Macaulay Salmon Hatchery in Juneau, Alaska
Minimum Starting Salary: $43,000 per year plus benefits
Standard Working Hours: 7AM-4PM Monday through Friday (with hour lunch)

Douglas Island Pink & Chum Inc. (DIPAC) is a private non-profit organization which manages two salmon hatcheries in the Juneau area to produce salmon for the common property fisheries of northern southeast Alaska. DIPAC also manages the Ladd Macaulay Visitor Center.
DIPAC’s mission is to sustain and enhance valuable salmon resources of the State of Alaska for the economic, social, and cultural benefit of all citizens, and to promote public understanding of Alaska's salmon resources and salmon fisheries through research, education, and tourism. General Description:
Douglas Island Pink & Chum, Inc. is hiring for the position of Office Assistant to perform administrative, and tasks to support our office. The successful applicant will be customer service oriented, have excellent attention to detail, prioritize organization, and have professional communication skills.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Greeting visitors
- Answering / transferring calls on a multi-line phone system
- Receiving / distributing incoming mail
- Filing and maintaining company related vendor files
- Assist with payroll
- Process accounts payable / accounts receivable
- Maintain company calendar of events
- Monitor / order office supplies
- Assist in Visitor Center gift shop during summer months (when needed)
- Assist management team with secretarial tasks and errands outside the office
Qualifications:
- Experience with QuickBooks, accounts payable/receivable, MS Office, and familiarity with office equipment and procedures is strongly
- Must be able to obtain an Alaska driver’s license. A job offer for this position is contingent upon a clean motor vehicle record for DIPAC's drivers insurance approval.
- Ability to pass a background check is mandatory.
