Job Description and Duties

PARK MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) – ANGELES DISTRICT / LOS ANGELES SECTOR / BALDWIN HILLS SCENIC OVERLOOK

The reporting location for this position is Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook at 6300 Hetzler Rd. Culver City, CA 90232. This position will work under the supervision of Park Maintenance Supervisor. 

The incumbent will be responsible for housekeeping of park facilities; assist ground keeping and general facility maintenance. The position provides for an apprentice challenge in the opportunity to learn and perform a wide variety of skills in an area diversed with opportunity. The incumbent will lead and assist outside agencies, volunteers, and seasonal staff in facility operations. This position may assist with work in other park units in the area at various times. The incumbent will complete data sheets to ensure compliance with use and upkeep of programs.

The incumbents work schedule will be Sunday through Thursday, from 7:00 am. to 3:30 pm. May vary depending on staffing needs.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.
