Position Overview
The Director oversees all aspects of animal care and rehabilitation, from arrival to release. This includes the pre-release area, the scarlet macaw breeding and release project, and the future sanctuary. The Director ensures daily operations run smoothly and upholds the highest standards of animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise staff responsible for animal care and husbandry
- Develop and implement feeding, enrichment, and enclosure design protocols
- Oversee and collaborate with the Head Veterinarian on animal health and welfare protocols
- Ensure compliance with rehabilitation goals and best practices
- Coordinate weekly schedules and share management duties with the Assistant Director
- Lead, train, and motivate staff and volunteers to maintain good conduct and high performance

Requirements
- Fluent in Spanish
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Animal husbandry expertise
- Valid driver’s license
