The Strategic Funding Team’s vision is to accelerate Puget Sound ecosystem and salmon recovery by addressing challenges in finding and securing funding to create a more efficient, equitable funding system.

Overview of the Restoration and Transportation Funding Strategist position:

Throughout Puget Sound, projects with a restoration/transportation nexus are occurring with increasing frequency, complexity, and difficulty in funding. As a result, PSP launched the Sound Safe Infrastructure initiative with the goal to build on the traditional overlap and strengthen the alignment between transportation and Puget Sound ecosystem and salmon recovery, uniting the two sectors throughout partnerships, planning, funding, and implementation of projects. As the Restoration and Transportation Funding Strategist, you will play a key role in advancing the implementation of the Sound Safe Infrastructure initiative and improve the funding system so it’s supportive of the restoration and transportation. You will build and strengthen relationships with Tribal, local, and regional partners, connect them to appropriate funding sources and technical resources, and support the development of collaborative projects. Your work will also include tracking funding utilization, supporting transportation-related funding efforts, and assisting the Strategic Funding Manager in coordinating funding strategies across agencies, partners, and regional forums.
