To allow for growth and salary progression, the full salary range is: $138,562 - $170,076 annually
We are seeking a transformational leader with experience in leading teams through organizational change and business process reengineering initiatives, as well as the ability to mentor and empower others to navigate these changes successfully. As Senior Director of Employee and Enterprise Services, you will supervise the Directors of Enterprise Services (Facilities, Fleet, Radio), Grants, Human Resources, Office of Legal Affairs and Business Practices, and Workplace Culture and Development. You will be an executive leader of the agency's Shared Services teams, playing a critical role and having a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction of our organization’s critical shared services landscape. With a keen focus on agency business partner needs, you will lead and engage teams, fostering cross-divisional and regional relationships to integrate operational best practices, process improvements, and the development of sound management principles. Your ability to navigate change, prioritize projects, and articulate the importance of teamwork, partnership, and collaboration to agency leaders and business partners will be critical as you lead DNR through the modernization of the agency’s shared services and plan for future needs.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the standardization of procedures and processes to implement policies across the enterprise and provide guidance for the programs it supports and shared services more broadly.
- Work with individual directors to define and implement DNR’s long-term mission and goals and to develop strategic roadmaps for each group.
- Provide consultation and direction to assigned Directors to implement DNR’s workforce strategic plans and support the Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Shared Services.
- Recommend strategies and/or modifications to implement budget and fiscal policies and procedures, and provide direction to division and executive management for advice impacting agency practices.
- Meet deliverables for the development and implementation of the shared services roadmaps for each area, and policy initiatives, to ensure cost-effective and efficient operating practices for assigned agency programs.
- Coordinate and provide input as needed on legislative reviews and ensure appropriate responses are provided to the DNR legislative team, as well as to legislators and legislative staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field, or a combination of education and/or experience equivalent.
- At least seven years of progressively responsible leadership and management experience in a large, complex, and highly represented organization.
- Experience in strategic leadership, precise communication, effective negotiation, and persuasive advocacy.
- Experience leading large teams and as a member of executive management teams.
- Experience leading innovative best business practices and continual process improvement.
- Experience mediating issues between executive management, senior management, and operational program staff.
- Experience creating a positive work environment, building morale, and maintaining a high level of staff performance.
- Experience developing staff skills through effective coaching, mentoring, and training.
Key Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge and understanding of the Washington State Legislative processes.
