Environmental Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC) Foundation of Sint Maarten is seeking a part-time Project Manager to assist our non-profit organization’s mission to protect the environment through research, outreach, and community-based action. Registered as a Foundation in 2007, EPIC works in collaboration with local partners and the community to address crucial conservation issues.

Responsibilities
The Project Manager will report to the Program Director. The individual must work from the island of Sint Maarten and may work from home on island. Responsibilities include:
Project Management 70%
- Manage existing and future projects, from development to implementation, and ensure that all contract requirements are fulfilled by responsible parties including but not limited to the following projects/activities:
- Blue Flag and Green Key eco-labels
- Outreach events and educational presentations
- Litter cleanups
- Research
- Assist as needed with plastic recycling program
- Track status and deadlines of all funding applications, renewals, and grant reports.
- Ensure reports, other updates and requests are completed on time.
- Process payments.
Fundraising 15%
- Research and seek new sources of funding from foundation, corporate and government funders.
- Coordinate with Program Director and/or Board members in developing project technical and financial components as well as other requirements for the preparation of new and renewal funding applications.
- Identify fundraising opportunities.
- Coordinate fundraising events.
Office Management 15%
- Serve as the first point of communication, via phone and email, for those contacting the foundation. Direct inquiries to the appropriate contact person as needed.
- Contribute social media content.
- Organize and maintain income and expense records and submit to bookkeeper.
- Submit employee payroll and staff payments in coordination with third-party payroll service as needed.
- Submit monthly written reports on activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail.
- Dynamic interpersonal relationship skills, with a professional demeanor and ability to build rapport and credibility with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong ability to organize, prioritize and, as appropriate, delegate tasks to balance responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Experienced analytical and research skills with ability to innovate and think strategically.
- Ability to present program information and financial reports to funders in compelling terms.
- Excellent ability to write clear, structured, articulate and persuasive materials.
- Strong ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team setting.
- Strong ability to take initiative and be self-motivated.
- Computer literacy required, including document and spreadsheet creation and editing.
- Effective problem solver who is results oriented, adaptable and willing to contribute when needed.
- A high level of professionalism, strong ethical values and clear/strong-yet-flexible.
- Proven capacity to maintain patience/tolerance and tact/diplomacy in challenging situations.
Eligibility
Preferred candidates have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in the environmental or sustainability field
- Proven successful management of projects, especially related to grants, including meeting project objectives and budget and reporting requirements
- Experience managing fundraising events and securing grants
- Fluency in written and spoken English
