Share your love of the outdoors! The Michigan DNR hires seasonal Explorer Guides (environmental educators) each summer. You'll have the opportunity to connect people to nature by leading hikes, teaching outdoor skills, creating activities, and presenting fun programs that feature each park's unique resources.
We offer training in hands-on environmental activities, nature interpretation, and other core job skills. Program supplies are provided.
Most positions are 30-40 hours per week depending on location and pay is $15.00/hour. Housing is NOT provided, and you should be willing to work a varied shift that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
We have openings in the following parks:
- UP: Van Riper, Brimley
- Northern Lower: Burt Lake, Rifle River, Clear Lake
- West side: Mears, Holland, Fort Custer
- Mid-Michigan: Pinckney, Ionia, Holly
- Metro Detroit: Sterling
- Thumb: Port Crescent
