Job Overview

The National Bobwhite and Grassland Initiative Foundation (NBGIF), working closely with state wildlife agencies and partners, have been pioneers in collaborative habitat restoration for three decades. NBGIF is seeking a State Delivery Specialist to join our team to assist with delivering conservation projects to landowners and producers through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). The selected candidate will be supervised remotely by NBGIF’s RCPP Georgia Coordinator while working closely with Georgia DNR Private Lands Program biologists to enroll private landowners in conservation programs. This program is available for landowners statewide with targeted enrollments in south central and southeast Georgia counties. The selected candidate will primarily work remotely entering, reviewing, and managing landowner information for new projects and active contracts. The ideal candidate must: be self-disciplined and able to meet expectations in a remote setting; possess excellent communication and organizational skills; work independently and as part of a team; and be interested in gaining experience in conservation of private lands. This position is primarily a home office position with some field opportunities throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support DNR biologists in enrolling landowners in RCPP program emphasizing northern bobwhite conservation 
  • Facilitate RCPP program requirements which include, but is not limited to, enrolling landowners, designing conservation practices, digitally mapping practices, and reviewing project completion for certification
  • Provide customer service to landowners during program enrollment, progress checks, and documentation of project completion 
  • Organize outreach events advertising RCPP objectives and eligibility requirements
  • Assist research team with data collection as needed

Key Qualifications 

  • A BS degree in wildlife management, ecology, biology, natural resource management, or related field
  • Strong communication skills and discipline to work effectively without direct supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for data entry and project tracking
  • Working knowledge of managing early successional habitats of the southeast and associated wildlife
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS, database operations, and capable of learning new software
  • Interest in gaining experience in private lands conservation delivery and NRCS cost-share programs

Requirements

  • Must reside within Georgia, preferably in a south-central or southeast county
  • Must have space and ability to work from home, including a reliable internet connection
  • Must be able to work independently, without direct supervision, entering, managing, and reviewing project data
  • Must have reliable transportation, the foundation will reimburse required travel associated with the position
