Job Location: Remote position with occasional travel; an Ohio residence is required.

Job Overview:
The National Bobwhite and Grassland Initiative Foundation (NBGIF) is seeking a Program Support Specialist to help administer the Wildlife Habitat Initiative—a Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) funded by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). This position collaborates extensively with the ODNR Division of Wildlife private land staff to assist landowners with conservation program enrollment. This new conservation program provides financial assistance to Ohio landowners to establish or manage grassland and pollinator habitat for the benefit of bobwhite quail and grassland birds. The selected candidate will be supervised remotely by the Ohio NBGIF RCPP Coordinator and will work in conjunction with ODNR Wildlife Management Consultants (WMCs) and Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Wildlife Specialists to assist private landowners by providing software system and contract support services statewide.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team, and show a commitment to conservation on private lands. The position is primarily remote, with occasional required travel to support statewide staff.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide technical and customer support to ODNR WMCs and SWCD Wildlife Specialists throughout the enrollment process in the RCPP program, including activities such as software support and training, application and contract reviews, and document evaluation for completion and certification.
- Provide administrative support during the enrollment process by conducting contract progress checks and documenting practice and contract completion dates.
- Assist in the coordination with federal agencies to complete landowner and practice eligibility/compliance checks.
- Adhere to deadlines for application and contract processing and collaborate with the financial team on payments.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED/HiSET required.
- Three (3) years of related experience in data entry, customer support, program administration, or project management (preferred).
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills and discipline to work effectively without direct supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Familiar with ArcGIS and capable of learning new software.
- Familiarity with private lands conservation delivery and NRCS conservation programs (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills for data entry and project tracking.
- Able to keep up with a high-paced work environment.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed from home with an NBGIF-provided laptop and monitors.
- Must have space and ability to work from home, including a reliable internet connection.
- Reliable transportation will be necessary, and the foundation will reimburse travel costs associated with the position.
