The Connecticut Audubon Society’s RTP Estuary Center Summer Camp is a nine-week, nature-rich summer day program for children ages 5-13. Each week of camp has a specific outdoor theme that will be the guide for the curriculum for this summer. Summer Camp teacher-naturalist reports to the Summer Camp Director. Additional opportunities for school program and after-school teacher position for interested applicants.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching outdoor science and nature programming to children ages 5 to 13 in an outdoor setting.
- Teachers will be expected to prepare and implement curriculum, and teach on a variety of topics that allow children to experience the outdoors through hands-on: activities, games, hikes, guided nature explorations, and arts and crafts.
- Supports summer camp program logistics including setup/cleanup and materials preparation
Qualifications
- Applicants must be over 18 years of age
- Experience working with children and/or in environmental science, ecology, or similar background
- Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions
- First Aid/CPR certification a plus
Salary is hourly based on experience.
