Join a respected and reputable land trust team dedicated to connecting people to conservation lands through public trails, and creating more opportunities for the development of public trails in Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina’s (FCNC) 8-county service area. The Trails Program Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be to assist the Trails Program Director in developing the Wilderness Gateway State Trail - a state-designated trail that FCNC serves as the lead organization for developing - and maintaining the public trail system at FCNC’s Oak Hill Community Park & Forest near Morganton, NC. Additional duties include developing and overseeing other trail projects with local and regional partners (e.g. Fonta Flora State Trail; Overmountain Victory State Trail, Catawba Meadows MTB Trail, etc.).

Exciting years lay ahead for public trails in Western NC with increasing demand for outdoor public spaces and recent advocacy efforts for increasing trail funding.
