Location: This position is located in Boise, ID. TVCN does not currently have a physical office; in-person meetings and commitments are held across the Treasure Valley.

The Treasure Valley Canopy Network (TVCN / Network) is a community-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports the growth of a healthy and thriving urban forest in communities across the Treasure Valley. Job Overview / Summary:

The Administrative & Development Coordinator supports the mission of TVCN – collaborating with our community to inform the sustainable development of the Treasure Valley’s urban forest. This new staff position will play a critical role in the Network staff and leadership team who are responsible for advancing Network programs and community impact across Idaho’s Treasure Valley. The Network is at a pivotal point in our organization’s growth where there are unique opportunities for a dynamic team member who is interested in contributing to the team while growing their knowledge, skills and abilities in a fun and impactful work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications & Outreach

  • Identify opportunities for TVCN to effectively engage the public across Idaho’s Treasure Valley
  • Develop and enhance content, design and overall management for various Network communication outlets, including: Network website and  program web pages; quarterly electronic newsletter
  • Support the Network’s social media platforms 

Administrative Support

  • Support yearly contributing membership dues and invoices
  • Work with the TVCN staff team to ensure timely and accurate grant reports to funders 
  • Manage TVCN’s Google Drive system to ensure organization and compliance with record retention policies
  • Support weekly Quickbooks activity such as reconciliation of accounts, collection of receipts, and reporting

Fundraising & Development

  • Support general fundraising activities (general donations, Idaho Gives, Giving Tuesday, tree planting events, corporate partnerships, etc.) 
  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy in partnership with TVCN staff
  • Track incoming donations and send out thank you notes and tax acknowledgements
  • Identify and support applications for potential grants and other funding opportunities for TVCN

Required Skills & Abilities

  • You are excited to join a small, but nimble team who has a passion for working together to advance positive impact in our community and for the benefit of our environment.
  • You are good at data entry, both accurate and quick.
  • You are great at planning and keeping track of details.
  • You are comfortable talking to new people about TVCN’s mission. 
  • You ask for help when needed and aren’t afraid to say you “don’t know, but will find out.” Then you follow up.
  • You are comfortable with a flexible, remote workplace.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • You are comfortable in Quickbooks and knowledgeable and/or interested in learning about nonprofit accounting and grant management.
  • You have experience in and/or eager to learn about nonprofit fundraising and development.
  • Previous nonprofit experience.

Compensation & Benefits

This position is fulltime and located in Boise, Idaho. TVCN provides health insurance, unlimited PTO, and a flexible work environment. Annual compensation for this position is $45,000.
