Administrative Intern
Carolina Waterfowl Rescue (CWR) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Administrative Intern to join our team at our animal rescue and sanctuary in Indian Trail, NC. This is a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in non-profit operations while working in a fast-paced, mission driven environment surrounded by a wide variety of animals. If you are a quick learner who enjoys multitasking, interacting with public, and supporting animal welfare, this internship ofters meaningful, hands-on experience and mentorship in the day-to-day operations of a busy rescue organization.

What you will do:
As an Administrative Intern, you'll play a key role in keeping our front office and programs running smoothly. Responsibilities include:
- Perform routine clerical and secretarial duties
- Work with Microsoft Office and Internal systems
- Serve as a welcoming presence at the front desk, interacting with the public
- Assist with animal intakes
- Support adoptions
- Accept and proccess donations
- Enter and update animal data in Raptor Med software. (Training provided)
- Provide care for select house animals
- Maintain a clean, organized front office and house area
- Receive and process deliveries (FedEx, UPS, USPS and public drop-offs)
- Handle store purchases and work the register
- Assist individuals picking up auction items
- Prepare select items for shipment
- Maintain house supply inventory listing
- Communicate with the Intake Hotline regarding animals enroute
- Collaborate with staff and leadership on additional projects as needed

Internship Details:
- Position Type: Seasonal, stipend-based Internship
- Duration: May through August (start date flexible)
- Time commitment: 40 hours per week
- Stipend: $500 upon successful completion of the internship
- Must be able to work some nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be confortable working outdoors daily in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity and rain
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Eligibility:
Preference will be given to:
- Current college students in a related field
- Recent graduates with a bachelor's degree
We will also consider mature high school students (16 and over) with a strong interest in animals and non-profit work
