Do you love working outdoors, connecting with students and community members, and sharing your passion for adventure? Join our Outdoor Recreation team as an Adventure Leader!

Adventure Leaders help introduce youth and community members to outdoor recreation activities while building confidence, developing technical skills, and fostering a strong sense of environmental stewardship. Adventure leaders may assist with school programs, summer camps, community events, after-school programs, field trips, large-scale public events, and other outdoor recreation opportunities. This position provides hands-on instruction and supervision in a variety of outdoor activities, including but not limited to:

• Rock climbing and rappelling
• Knot tying and climbing safety
• Archery
• Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP)
• Caving
• Leave No Trace principles and outdoor ethics
• Environmental stewardship and responsible recreation

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being active outdoors, working with youth, teaching new skills, and creating meaningful connections between people and the natural environment. Experience with outdoor recreation, environmental education, youth programming, or related activities is preferred, but not required.

Schedule: This position requires flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, based on program and event schedules. Employees should be comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and adapting to changing program needs.

Safety Sensitive Position: This position is safety sensitive and is subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Employment Status: This is an unclassified, at-will position.

Minimum Education, Experience and Additional Requirements

Applicants 15 years of age may be eligible for the entry-level position with a required work permit. Recreation program experience is preferred but not required.
