The Harrison Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking an Agriculture/Natural Resources Technician to promote conservation practices, improve soil health, and protect water quality throughout Harrison County. This position works directly with farmers, landowners, and partner agencies to provide technical assistance, educational outreach, and conservation planning. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance to farmers and landowners on conservation practices, soil health, nutrient management, and water quality. Conduct field visits, site assessments, conservation planning, and follow-up evaluations. Assist with agricultural conservation programs, including nutrient management, Agricultural Pollution Abatement, water quality initiatives, and voluntary nutrient management plans. Support conservation engineering activities, including site investigations, practice layout, and construction oversight. Coordinate educational workshops, field days, tours, and outreach events for agricultural producers and the public. Assist with district rental equipment, including scheduling, calibration, and user instruction. Maintain accurate records, reports, and program documentation. Build and maintain positive working relationships with landowners, agencies, and community partners.

Qualifications: Associate degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. Knowledge of agriculture, soil health, crop production, nutrient management, conservation practices, and water quality. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office; GIS or mapping experience is preferred. Valid Ohio driver's license with insurable driving record. Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate rough terrain.
