Advancing Markets for Producers in South Carolina (AMPSC) is a $75M USDA project awarded to Clemson University and South Carolina State University with a primary goal of increasing the acreage & number of farms using conservation practices in SC.
This job requires a two-year commitment and provides an exciting opportunity for someone looking to dip their toe in Cooperative Extension (or technical service in agriculture) The AMPSC Extension Educator will work primarily with the leafy greens and peanut growers enrolled in the project. Daily statewide travel required at specific times. The position will be based out of Charleston, St. Matthews, or Florence.
Responsibilities
Work cooperatively with county and state staff, project coordinators and enrolled producers to implement the objectives of AMPSC statewide under the agricultural component of the program. Serve on the Horticulture Program Team. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Agriculture or a related field and experience in agricultural research that is directly related to the area of employment. Work experience in agricultural research may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Work Experience - 1+ years of demonstrated experience in educational program delivery, project management, or similar.
