The Wildlife Biologist 1 position will support the botany team in the Wildlife Conservation Section by assisting the Heritage Botanist with data management and fieldwork. Key responsibilities include data management and preparation of materials for S-ranking and conservation status assessments of plant Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN) identified in the 2025 State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP). This role also supports inventory, monitoring and mapping of high-priority plant species and habitats on conservation lands, designing and implementing field surveys for SGCN, environmental review,management ofthe Georgia Ginseng Program,  organizing herbarium specimens, maintaining GIS data, assistance with report writing and facilitating data/information sharing via the Georgia Biodiversity Portal. Strong organizational skills are necessary to meet the demand for informationon Georgia's diverse rareplants and habitats, and to receive and manage data from individuals and partners. While based in the Social Circle office of the Wildlife Resources Division, occasional travel throughout the state is required.
