Tenure-track organismal biology position at Miami University
Miami University is hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences at the Middletown Campus. The successful applicant will be an organismal biologist interested in teaching vertebrate biology, anatomy, and/or general biology to biology majors, while also teaching other courses within their area of expertise; maintain an active research program and seek external funding; advise students; and provide service to the institution and profession. The Middletown Campus is located 23 miles from the university's main campus in Oxford, Ohio.
This position requires a Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field by date of appointment. Screening of applicants will begin December 16, 2024 and continue until the position is filled. Inquiries may be directed to Dr. David Berg at bergdj@miamioh.edu. Appointment begins in August, 2025.
Consideration may be given to candidates
- with postdoctoral experience and/or prior college teaching experience;
- who explore mechanisms underlying animal diversity or behavior at any level of biological organization;
- with research interests complementing those of current faculty in Biology and/or Microbiology, or who show potential for research collaborations with other Miami biologists.
